What Our Church Teaches

The Word of God

We believe in the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scriptures and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

      II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:20,21; Mark13:31; John 20:31; Acts 20:32

 The Trinity

We affirm that there is but one true and living God, one in essence, eternally existing in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each equally deserving worship and obedience.

     Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 4:25; John 1:1,3

 God the Father

We affirm that God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, is an infinite, personal spirit; perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.  We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and earth all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

      Luke 10:21, 22; Matthew 23:9; John 3:16; Romans 1:7; I Timothy 1:1,2

God the Son - Jesus Christ

We affirm that Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, possesses all the divine attributes, and is co-equal, co-substantial, and co-eternal with the Father. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teaching. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth.

      John 10:30; 14:9 Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1 Romans 9:5; II Corinthians 5:21; John 20:30 Hebrews 9:28 I Timothy 3:16

 God the Holy Spirit

We affirm that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, has all the characteristics of personality, including intellect, emotions and will, and possesses the essence and all the attributes of deity. We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment and works in regeneration, sanctification and in the empowerment of all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.

      John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:26, 27; John 16:9-14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:22-26

 Regeneration

We affirm that man was created in the image of God but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death, but also spiritual death and eternal separation from God. Now all of mankind exists as a fallen race with an inherited sinful nature

      Genesis 2:16, Genesis 3:16-19, Romans 3:10-23, Romans 6:23

  The Church

We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe the primary task of the local church is the giving of the gospel to the lost for the glory of God.

      Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:19-21; Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:23-25

 The Christian Life

We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow men; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.

      I Corinthians 10:31; Romans 12:1-3; Hebrews 12:1-2; John 14:15, 23-24; I John 2:3-6; 1 Corinthians 4:2

 Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked.

      Matthew 16:27; Mark 14:62; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13; II Thessalonians 1:7-10′ Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15.
